eCampusOntario — Intercultural Competence Learning Module
Description
The eCampusOntario Pressbooks intercultural competence resource is designed for educators, trainers, and researchers who want a practical way to develop and assess intercultural competence in themselves or their learners. It features a self-assessment component within an open-access learning module that helps users reflect on and apply key intercultural concepts—such as cultural values, nonverbal communication, observation, listening, critical thinking, and empathy—in everyday and intercultural interactions. Through reflective questions and scenario-based exercises, learners receive formative feedback and practical examples, not grades, making the tool ideal for individual learning or classroom use. Embedded in a three-module structure, it also promotes global perspectives and the ongoing development of intercultural skills.
