Connect: Intercultural Learning Network
Description
This course is a creation of the international team within European project with the same title, developed under Erasmus program.
Connect is a cross-sectoral project, bringing together practitioners and experts from the university and youth sector, funded by the European Union. It was initiated to create an innovative intercultural learning scenario, consisting of an e-learning platform and curricula for pre-departure and re-entry orientation, to support Erasmus participants (students and interns) in the higher education sector before, during and after their exchange by integrating methods and concepts from non-formal youth education to formal education.
The project developed the following tools:
a) Manual Face-to-face training
1. Pre-departure training
- Cultural self-awareness and perception
- Intercultural acting
- Culture-specific features
- Narrative and media: Learning to share knowledge
2. Re-entry training
- Reflection
- Intercultural competence here and now
- Presenting key competencies
- Passing on your experiences – what now?
b) Online Curriculum and Experience Map:
1. Before stay abroad
- hungry for new experiences & key concepts of intercultural communication
2. During stay abroad
- coping with uncertain situations
- experiencing a stay abroad as enrichment
- sharing experiences
3. After stay abroad
- coming home. Thinking back and moving forward
