D.I.E. is an exercise developed by Dr Janet M Bennett, co-founder of the Institute for Intercultural Communication in Portland, Oregon. D.I.E. stands for Description-Interpretation-Evaluation; the exercise is designed to train constructive ways of thinking and talking about events and behaviours with culturally different others by introducing the 3-way distinction and having participants practicing the distinction.
